On October 22, I will be running in my first marathon EVER - the Marine Corps Marathon in DC - and I need your help!
I love running and supporting great causes so I have decided to run be a SoleMate for the DC Chapter of the Girls on the Run organization! The Girls on the Run mission is to help girls realize their limitless potential - they inspire them to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. You may visit the website for more information: www.gotrdc.org. The DC ward provides 70% of their participants with financial aid, so any donations will help provide scholarships to the girls!
I first became aware of GOR in college through my sorority, Gamma Phi Beta! "Building Strong Girls" is the organization's motto and strongly resonates with me. Without the loving support system I've luckily had throughout my life, I wouldn't have had the confidence to believe I could run 26.2 miles. It's important, more than ever, and particularly in this political climate, to support young girls and to help them chase their goals and realize their potential.
Please help me on this journey and to raise awareness for such a great organization! Thanks!
Help me reach my goal of $750! Any and all donations are welcome!
*All donations are tax-deductible!
