Caitlin on the Run for Girls on the Run

My name is Caitlin Ryan and this is Girls on the Run.  I'm running 26.2 miles on October 22 at the Marine Corps Marathon to raise funds for girls in Washington, DC.

Girls face social pressures and conflicting messages about how they should act and who they should be.  Studies show that by adolescence, girls confidence drops about twice as much as boys'.  Friendships become more complicated and challenging, girls perception of their academic ability declines, the likelihood of anxiety and depression increases and participation in physical activity plummets.

It doesnt have to be this way.

We believe that EVERY GIRL is inherently FULL OF POWER and POTENTIAL.  By knowing they are the leaders of their lives these are the girls that WILL CHANGE THE WORLD.

Girls on the Run is a ten week program for 3rd to 8th graders that inspire them to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind.  Trained coaches lead small teams through curricula which includes discussions, activities and running games.  They develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness.  The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and completing a celebratory 5K event.

Every girl should have the opportunity to experience this wonderful program, which is why I am running 26.2 miles on October 22 and asking for your financial support today.

As a nonprofit 501 (c)3 organization, Girls on the Run relies on the generosity of parents, friends and community members like you to serve all girls, regardless of their ability to pay.

Gifts of all sizes, be it $2 or $200, will have an immediate and impactful input on Girls on the Run.  All gifts are tax deductible and will not go unnoticed!  Thank you for your support!
