Confidence, Character, Care, Connections, Competence and Contribution that is what you can bring to the girls of your school or organization by offering the 10-week Girls on the Run Greater Hartford curriculum and program. Applications are being accepted for schools and community sites to offer the program to girls in the 3-6 grade. Application closes on June 15, 2018. Make a difference in a girl's life by becoming a coach! Applications are due by June 15, 2018. Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer coach for Girls on the Run Greater Hartford! At Girls on the Run, we offer life-changing, physical activity-based after-school programs for girls in 3rd through 6th grades throughout the Greater Hartford area and some parts of New Haven. Our goal is to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum, which creatively integrates running. Our Fall 2018 season begins the week of September 17, 2018 and runs through December 2, 2018. As a coach (head, assistant, junior or substitute) you MUST be able to commit to attend in-person training as well as all 20 sessions of the program (substitute coach only attend sessions as needed). The program times will vary by site, but they will begin as early as 2:00 p.m. and normally begin at 3:00 p.m. Please do not apply to be a coach if you cannot attend the program in the afternoons twice a week for 10 weeks.
