Make a difference in a girl's life by becoming a coach! Applications are due by January 5, 2018. Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer coach for Girls on the Run Greater Hartford! At Girls on the Run, we offer life-changing, physical activity-based after-school programs for girls in 3rd through 6th grades throughout the Greater Hartford area and some parts of New Haven. Our goal is to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum, which creatively integrates running. Our Spring 2018 season begins the week of February 26 and runs through May 19. As a coach (head, assistant, junior or substitute) you MUST be able to commit to attend in-person training as well as all 20 sessions of the program. The program times will vary by site, but they will begin as early as 2:00 p.m. and normally begin at 3:00 p.m. Please do not apply to be a coach if you cannot attend the program in the afternoons twice a week for 10 weeks. We have other volunteer opportunities for people who have work and family commitments in the afternoon. Read More!
