Run for Hope 5K Run/Walk Sunday, October 29, 2017

Proceeds from the event will be split between

Berrien County Suicide Prevention Coalition

and

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

Riverwood Center has been providing mental health services and programs to residents of Berrien County since the mid-1970s. We partner with children, adults and families on their journey toward recovery by inspiring hope and providing personalized, confidential and compassionate services. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for ages 15-34 in Michigan.

An American dies by suicide every 12.3 minutes and Americans attempt suicide an estimated 1.1 million times annually according to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (www.afsp.org).

The Berrien County Suicide Prevention Coalition, an advisory committee of Riverwood Center, has noted there are around 25 suicides a year in Berrien County.
