About This Event
Thank you for your interest in bringing the Girls on the Run program to your local school or facility! Girls on the Run is a character development program for girls, grades third through eighth, that uses physical activity as a tool to introduce healthy lifestyle choices. The focus of the program is on increasing the girls’ self-respect and enhancing their self-esteem and confidence through an experienced based curriculum facilitated by Coach Mentors. Our program runs twice a year, in the Spring and Fall seasons. The season runs for 10 weeks, with the girls meeting twice a week for 90 min. each session.
All sites are asked to recruit at least four coaches to serve as mentors and implement the GOTR curriculum at their location. 2 Lead coaches must be be school or facility staff members. The Girls on the Run staff will be responsible for training, communicating with, and providing all the materials your coaches will need to confidently implement the program. All sites must identify a specific Site Liaison who is responsible for communicating with the GOTR Site Manager, identifying days and times of programming, helping to publicize the program at their location, and signing the program agreement. Site Liaison may also be asked to serve as a substitute at their location.
