Each season Girls on the Run has a dynamic group of coaches and practice partners that volunteer their time to guide and mentor girls so that they are prepared to become happy, healthy, self-confident adolescents and adults. Coaches and practice partners need not be fast runners; they just need to be individuals that want to be a positive influence and who are committed to developing and celebrating our youth.
COACHES: Coaches teach the curriculum during each GOTR meeting for 10 weeks and must go through an official GOTR training to be certified.
PRACTICE PARTNERS: (Formerly known as Site Running Buddies) Practice Partners must complete this application and pass a background check. This is the name we give our adult volunteers at a specific site who haven't gone through the official coach training. These individuals help the GOTR coaches at a certain location throughout the whole season on a consistent basis (one or both days a week). These volunteers do not teach the curriculum and don't have to attend the official coaches training. We ask that they complete the Stewards of Children training and have the option of attending the CPR certification at no cost to them.
NOTE: Practice Partners need to mark "General Volunteers" as your role on this volunteer application and then within the application tell us you will be a Practice Partner for a certain location.
If you are looking to help at our 5K or volunteer for general tasks throughout the season, please exit out of this application and choose the link "5K Volunteer" or "General Volunteer" on the same page of our website.
